How do I access BT in mail when it no longer goes online since upgrading to High Sierra?

I can no longer access my BT account mail in mail since upgrading to High Sierra on my new Mac and Apple say it is BT's error and BT say it is Apple's error: can onyone help please?

iMac with Retina 5K display, version 10.13.1

Try verifying your account's configuration in Mail. Or remove the account from Mail then reconfigure it from scratch. Be sure you have your email account's password, incoming, and outgoing mail domain name servers.
