Not getting facebook notifications on my iMac

My MacBook Pro works fine with Facebook and notifications. However, using what I think are the same settings, my iMac does not receive / display any Facebook notifications. I like this feature. I've reviewed the articles I can find.

The OS is High Sierra

Can anyone provide suggestions for what I need to evaluate or settings I need to check ? Thanks.

You may have had a dialog window saying something like “Facebook wants to send you notifications” and you may have cancelled instead of clicking to allow.

I’m not at my mac to check but this may be set either in the browser or perhaps under System Preferences->Notifications.

Thanks but I can't find any setting to change that makes it work ...

I'm new to a Mac coming from 35 years of MSFT DOS/Windows
