Dell P2415Q vs MBP.
Hi,
I asked for advice about external monitors here numerous times, and nobody ever helped me. So I did some research elsewhere and bought Dell's P2415Q because it is considered by many people a MacBook Pro's best friend.
Well, 600$ later, all I can say is: stay away from it.
I am a graphic designer and most importantly, a photo retoucher. I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), and I needed the external monitor to look EXACTLY the same as my MBP. Currently, my MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone, and my wife's iMac all look the same. We use the sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile.
I did a lot of research and I even asked Dell representatives multiple times via their chat service to guide me for buying a new external monitor. The verdict was that the P2415Q was the best monitor for photographers and designers. Here is a snippet of one of my many discussions:

12/04/2017 09:39:46AM | Christian Belanger: "It is super important that the color, brightness, contrast, etc., of this external monitor are the same as the screen of my MacBook Pro." |
12/04/2017 09:39:52AM | Christian Belanger: "I read in a few places that your Dell P2415Q would be a good match." |
12/04/2017 09:39:56AM | Christian Belanger: "Is that right?" |
12/04/2017 09:40:19AM | Christian Belanger: "Would I need to calibrate the monitor a lot to make it look the same as my MacBook Pro?" |
12/04/2017 09:42:00AM | Agent (TIP_SUP_Lawrence C): "Correct, that is one of our top sellers for monitors and is compatible with a MAC. There is no need for any calibration as well Christian." |
Dell's P2415Q doesn't match what I was asking for; the screen is too yellow, and the brightness/contrast don't match at all the screen of my MacBook Pro. Also, I spent hours trying to calibrate it with no success.
I am now stuck with a 600$ monitor that I can't use.
Thanks.
