Role Colors don't show up in FCPX Timeline

Role Colors don't show up in FCPX Timeline

Hi All,

I'm trying to color organize my clips in the timeline using roles. In the Index button, I see the roles I've created exist however in the timeline the clips do not correlate with the Role color (it looks traditional). Has anyone else run into this?

FCPX 10.3.4

Roles were added clips in the timeline and also from the browser window.

Index is set to Show Roles.

Clips in the timeline have been set to show roles (in the change timeline appearance button)

I've dropped the preferences and restarted FCPX , but no luck. Help!

Thanks Tom,

Above is what I see after assigning roles to my multi-cam clips and b-roll. But the colors don't show up in the timeline.

I went to Go-Library- Preferences, and deleted the FCPX preferences, restarted the machine, and relaunched FCPX but the colors still do not show up?

The roles in the index are all video roles. The clip color takes its color from the audio role, which is set to dialogue. The clips don't show separate colors for video and audio.
