How to change font of To: field in Apple Mail

I'm currently using 10.13.2 on my Macbook Air. When I create a new message and enter the name of the addressee into the To: field, currently uses a superscript font for that name. I'd like to change the default font to a standard font. How can I do this? Thanks in advance...
