iPhone X. Battery and Clips

My battery barely lasts half a day

Clips just send me back to my home screen. It is in the background but anytime I try to bring it up to use it goes to the background again. Any help would be appreciated. This phone is only 2 weeks old.

Regarding Clips:

Is the iPhone's storage full? Check Settings > General > iPhone Storage and be certain you always have at least 10% of the iPhone's total storage free.
Reset the iPhone as follows:
- Briefly press the volume-up button and release
- Briefly press the volume-down button and release
- Press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears
