New iOS 11.2 Update crashed hard

It could not reconnect. ITunes warned me that it would restore to factory defaults and gave me a page to go to:

support.apple.com/restore

That page does not exist.

Also, my first iPhoneX would not boot. I spent three hours at the Apple Store before they would replace it.

I have successfully recovered, but I am not used to this kind of buggy release from Apple. Microsoft, maybe, but Apple? Come on guys!

Your post is extremely difficult to understand. We don't really have enough information to help you. Examples:

  • What is "it"?
  • "Reconnect"? Was "It" previously connected? To what?

What version of iTunes? (You need at least iTunes 12.7 to communicate to iOS 11.)
