I just upgraded from an iPhone 6 to an iPhone 8 at the Verizon store yesterday. My saved voicemails from my recently deceased Mother are gone and I am devastated. Is there a way to retrieve these. I would never have switched phones if I had known this was a possibility.

So it turns out that the new Apple operating system wipes saved voicemails. On my old phone my daughter disinstalled it and then did some kind of data base magic to find the voicemails. There are a few articles mentioning this flaw. I was lucky she was ableto fix it.
Verizon said they could possibly get them off their servers if a Tier 2 technician wrote a ticket however there were no guarantees.
The precious voicemails are now saved in multiple forms in multiple places.
Talk to Verizon, they control your voicemail box.
