How to stop Logic from altering imported audio files to -24db

Hi,

I've recently encountered an issue in Logic Pro X that no one else seems to have posted about. When I drag and drop an audio file into Logic - Logic duplicates the file and alters the sound of the audio; distorting it. Almost sounds like there a ton of compression on it that wasn't in the original file, when I compared the duplicated file to the original, the sound is completely different and adds -24db at the end. For example "Audio -24db". This is really bizarre and I have no idea how to resolve this issue, any help would be greatly appreciated.
