Hi there,

If you have an admin password on a 2011 MacBook Pro, could someone:

(1) Reset your admin password in recovery mode?

(2) Remove your physical ssd and put it into another computer?

(3) Hack in via the motherboard?

Is the best way to protect your computer date to use FileVault or just, if you are not worried about the actual physical computer from being stolen, then just setting a firmware password?

And are there any risks with using FileVault?

I have a 2011 MacBook Pro with an ssd, 16gb ram, and a 2.3GHz processor.

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.2)
