Do a forced restart for your model.
Then If possible try a different sim just to see if the sim reader is defective or not.
If the phone cannot identify a different sim either (one from a friend or family member) it may have a hardware problem.
If it recognizes a different sim contact your carrier to get a new sim.
If it does not recognize a different sim, make an appointment at the Genius Bar or an authorized service provider to have the phone evaluated.
