Podcasts no longer marked as played?

I'm not talking about the missing "Mark as Played" function, (although I want that back too).

I mean that I simply play a podcast, and when its finished, the podcast is not marked "Played Today" etc. I've completely lost track of which podcasts I've listened to.

Plus for some reason the app is suddenly much more finicky about losing connection while downloading an episode.

Some people dream of flying-cars or fame-and-fortune. I dream of podcast app that works as well as the old app before they "upgraded" it.
