Why cant i drag and drop an app into the application folder

I recently got a new macbook and I'm trying to redownload applications. One of these being minecraft. The dmg downloads correctly but when it comes to opening it, it doesnt allow me to drag the app in to the application folder. If anything it tells me "error code -43". I tried looking what the error code meant to maybe fix this issue but it hasn't helped. So please help me download MINECRAFT.
