What happens in my iMac?

Recently I got an issue on my iMac. When the mouse cursor turns like this, and then the iMac freezs. Then I reinstall OS. Anyone who has experienced like me? My iMac is 2010 mid hardware and OS is macOS sierra(not high sierra)

Have you tried shutting down the computer using the power button and then restarting?
