Symbols & Special Characters

Does anyone know where to find a complete/comprehensive listing of special characters and symbols possible with the iPad? By special characters, I mean for example è, ñ, etc. as well as symbols.

That is without having to change keyboards, and tapping every letter to see what the possibilities are, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I've put together a small sequence of special characters - let me know if you need anything else.

To insert special characters with the Mac keyboard:

Accent Key Strokes Available Characters

Grave ` option ` + the character À È Ì Ò Ù à è ì ò ù

Acute ´ option e + the character Á É Í Ó Ú á é í ó ú

Circumflex ^ option i + the character Â Ê Î Ô Û â ê î ô û ē ė ę

Tilde ~ option n + the character Ã Ñ Õ ã ñ õ

Umlaut ü (see below)

The "cheat" for all these special characters is simply to hold down the key you want until you get a miniscreen of options & select your choice. Which should give you the following options ê è é ê ë ē ė ę (on all vowels; aeiou)

There are other special characters for certain keys - have fun locating them.

Good Luck!
