iMessages

Okay so my iPod Touch 6 gen isn’t letting me send any messages to anyone with iPhone . I have restarted it and I have tried to log out and log back in. I dont know if its an issue with my moms account because I have her iCloud on my iPod for backup. How can I get help with y iMessage and FaceTime issue ?!
