imessage

So, just a few minutes ago I was composing a message and my fingers fumbled - suddenly, the screen changed. It used to be that on the far left, where the various threads are aligned vertically... there would be the persons image/name along with date and then the last few words of the thread... now it just contains icons as you can see. How do I get it back, please? I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks!
