still have ios 10 but udates availabke are only for ios 11.2

Son never updated his phone from iOS 10 to iOS 11. Now only update available on his phone is iOS 11.2. Does he need to install all the updates in between the two updates first or by doing the update for iOS 11.2 will it install the previous ones in its own
