iPhone X poor cell phone performance

Two other threads on this issue existed in the Apple Community Forums but I can't find them to see if they've moved towards a resolution.

It was immediately apparent when I began using it two weeks ago that iPhone X's cell phone performance was very weak compared to the iPhone 6s Plus that it replaced. After a half-dozen dropped calls and many instances in which I could not make a call - all in areas where the 6s Plus has performed perfectly for two years - I took the phone back to Apple.

While noting that my number of dropped calls was below their acceptable threshold of 20% (!!!) they replaced both the phone and the SIM card. It is no better. I'm at my desk, three bars of signal (as it should be here) and two minutes into a call it has just dropped another one.

The Apple store advised that I could set the phone to use only 3G rather than LTE for calls, but I declined since I don't accept that Apple's latest and most expensive cell phone should be unable to use LTE reliably.

Does anyone have any other advice? Does Apple listen here?! Getting very frustrated with this brick of a cell phone.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The call function is not completely dependent on the phone itself. It also depends on how the carrier's network deals with the device and whether that network has been tweaked to deal with any particular innovations in a new phone and operating system.

Have you talked to your carrier's advanced support and confirmed that the network is properly configured to deal with the iPhone X on iOS 11.2 with optimal results?

The reason for the question is if there is still some tweaking needed on the carrier side the situation can be expected to improve permanently. If on the other hand the carrier maintains that no work is needed on its side, the prospects are less encouraging.

I have not seen any problems with call drops or weak cell signal strength on my iPhone X. I use AT&T where I live and it has worked just fine.

As far as other advice, you should contact your carrier to see what they have to say, and they can test your account.

Does Apple listen here? No, they do not.

I would still check with the carrier, have them examine your account, and let them make a replacement of the SIM. It could be an issue with what Apple has, and the carrier should be able to provide you with the latest SIM for their network, and can also verify the provisioning of your account.

I did call cell provider Rogers upon having trouble with my first iPhone X. I told them that I was having problems and asked if there had been any changes to the network in my area that might be responsible. "No, nothing."

(The iPhone 6s Plus worked completely reliably in the same areas in which I'm having trouble, including in my office.)

I will go back to Rogers and ask specifically if there network adjustments are required/planned for the iPhone X.

I have the same problem. From time to time just receive a message that i have missed calls.

It is nit the case with iphone 7 .

Staying in the office i put the both devices close to each other and the coverage bar of 7 was full while the one of X was half full...

The mobile operator is the same for both devices.

What could be the issue and how to approach it?
