Start up

Won’t start up .. only get white screen. The Apple logo. And solid black bar... it’s been two hours now.. can some help any ideas Thx Howie

Try resetting the PRAM per the directions in iMac SMC and PRAM reset, if that does not work then try restarting in Safe Mode. If that does not work, then try restarting in the Recovery Partition (Command + R) and run Disk Utility - First Aide. If errors appear then you know the HD is damaged and must be replaced.
