Portable hard drive erase failed

I had an extra hard drive which I used to use for my PC but since that died I decided to use it as a backup for my Mac, however, when I used disk utility to erase the drive and format it as Mac OS Extended (journaled) and had the security at default (fastest,) it failed completely and all it shows in disk utility is disk2s1. I've tried to restore and the only option given is from container disk 1 which fails, I've tried to erase in different formats and still all fail, first aid failed as well. It also said it could't modify partition map.

My portable hard drive is a Seagate 1TB https://www.seagate.com/consumer/backup/expansion-portable/User uploaded file
