iPhone X stuck on “media restoring”

Tried a couple of times to restoring from iCloud back up of a 7 plus on 11.2. Apps and messages load and I get a “x of 12gb” progress bar during that process. That finishes with messages and apps loaded but no photos. When I check status of the restore I see ”restoring media” and no indication of any activity. I’ve restarted the restore via the erase all settings and media and started fresh 3 times with no noticeable difference. Any suggestions? No iTunes back up only iCloud.

Hey Jbower3,

I see that you are attempting to restore your iPhone from an iCloud backup but it doesn't seem to restore your images. It sounds like during this process you'll still see "restoring media" but don't notice any activity. Although not seeing anything on your display, in most cases your media is still being restore. It's important to allow the restore to take time to complete.

Also, for the images you want to see, are you able to view them when you go to www.icloud.com from a computer?

Check out this link regarding what to expect when you restore from an iCloud back up.
If iCloud Backup couldn’t be completed or you can’t restore

If the restore process takes a long time to finish

Stay connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network and a functional power source until the process finishes. The time it takes to restore from a backup depends on the size of your backup and the speed of your Wi-Fi network.

Cheers.
