Getting Live pictures back onto iPhone from laptop

Hello,

I moved all my pictures onto my laptop from my iPhone to clear some space, I used to do this no problem with my Sony in the past and I could always move things around as I wanted. I found out I couldn't directly return some select pictures back onto my iPhone (like drag & drop/copy-paste between windows). I've tried going through iCloud to return the pictures, some of which were Live which I wanted to keep, but they are only returned as still photos. Is there any way to return them as Live pictures (or has this format been lost in the transfer to the laptop)?

I've got iTunes and connected up the phone too which doesn't seem to be helpful, does this program ever work as a library or viewer for those stored on the laptop (including Live)?
