Why did you drop support for Apple TV 3rd gen from the iPhone/iPad remote app.

1. This is a user to user forum. You are not addressing Apple.

2. The Remote App downloaded from the App Store is still perfectly capable of controlling older Apple Tvs just fine.

The Remote Widget in Control center on iOS 11, only supports Apple TV 4th Gen and 4K, but is independent to the Downloadable App.

Use the downloadable App to control older Apple TVs.

If there is a network issue, changes made (i.e. new location and/or router), ATV is restored then it will no longer be detected. For older models a physical remote is needed to re-pair the ATV via the app. If you are unable to borrow then you can purchase a replacement from Apple

I’m having the same problem. The app no longer connects to my Apple TV, which is particularly great as I have lost the physical remote
