iPhone 6+ Auto Backup

IPhone 6+ running IOS 11.2 will not back up automatically when plugged in on lock screen and connected to strong WiFi. Manual backup works fine. I tried everything including resetting to new phone status, deleting old backup, resetting network settings. Could the problem be associated with a corrupted app.
