Question: Pro Res - 5120 × 2700 Ipad Pro - Red cameras

I after some simple info from a person who has actual working knowledge.

The file I have is from a camera Red, dimensions 5120 x 2700, I have put this into FCpro exported as a pro res and then air dropped to iPad Pro file happy to send at the end error as in no can complete.

Then opened my exported file with quick time exported again but as a H.264 1920 x 1012 no joy but tired on SD card this time no air drop involved.

I re tired with some Go pro video I had, that is fine, transfer complete with the SD card.

So is their a chance of a restriction on say dimensions ? for the iPad Pro ?

Yes. Current iPad Pro max resolution native video support is limited to 4K H.264 or something on the order of 2160p30 (3840x2160 @ 30fps for 16:9 aspect) H.264 High Profile @ L4.2 encoded data.

Hello Jon Walker,

Thats very kind of you to share, helps a lot.

Some others said 1080p 30 frames thats it.

So now I have something to play with regards to size and codecs, I find a work around with what can be used and post back here.

Regards Rob
