Mail app maintains double-copy of SMTP server settings

Settings of SMTP server of particular account are present at two locations (me uses here Mail app preferences, Accounts):

* {any account defined}>Server Settings tab>Outgoing Mail Server group

* List of SMTP servers definitions to be accessed using Edit SMTP Server List ... (from within again {any account defined}>Server Settings tab>Outgoing Mail Server group then Account drop-down list)

Are these two locations and bunches of data really two sets of data or just two views to one data set?

If one performs modification at one of these two locations does the another one get synchronized to modified one?
