photo booth is not working

I have an iMac; OS 10.6.8. Photo Booth is 3.03. I am able to take photo in the app but cannot save or send. The photo is not saved when I close and go back in. I am able to use the effects feature to modify photo but cannot do anything with it. Most functions in menu items are grayed out, not available. Any ideas? I didn't see this specific answer in posts archive. thanks

Hi maepeliza,

I understand that Photo Booth is not saving any photos or their edits. I'm happy to provide some help for this issue.

I recommend checking the permissions that are currently set for your Photo Booth Library to ensure that you have access to read and write to it. You can find the library with the steps below:

Open Finder
In the menu bar click Go > Home
Open the Pictures directory

Once you've found the library, use the article below to check the permissions:
