recently updated sierra but cant log in now

I recently downloaded and installed security updates now I can’t log in. I tried to go to safe mode no luck. Does anyone encountered the same issue and is there any easy way to fix without loosing data

Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart) and select Recovery Volume. Run Disk Utility and select First Aid. Then re-install the OS.

I doesn’t take me to log in window. After completing the loading bar it shows kind of stop sign

Yes, had to reinstall the Sierra. I am however annoyed at Apple, why they had to roll out an update to mess up the MacBook.
