Shuffle and Repeat for the Up Next playlist are greyed out. Help!

Took me forever to find the Shuffle and Repeat button on the new Music app since I don't use the app that often. After consulting the internet I finally found it, yet the buttons are greyed out. It's very annoying to listen to an album on long car rides and have it just end without looping. Does anyone know how to fix this?
