May I delete original media if I copy it into a project on import?

I couldn't quite determine this from the documentation... But I use the copy media into project when I import media into an event/project. May I "remove" the original media from my disk to save space then? I kind of like the idea of the media being in the project so I can move it all together when I'm done with a project or setting it on the shelf for a little while. But then I'd like to put the original media off line somewhere.

Thanks!

Yes you can.

However if your Project or Library becomes corrupted or some other disaster occurs........risky.

Keep a backup copy of your original media on a backup drive.

At the price of drives it is not worth the grief.

Yes, by "remove", I meant move the media to offline storage. On a related question, I use the Multicam clip feature as it very useful for the sort of video I shoot. After I create the multi-cam clip, can I "remove" the stand alone clips from the library?

I'd still have the original media hiding off line somewhere, just in case...
