mainstage 3 crashing computer

I am using a MacBook pro 2012 version. it has a 2.5ghz i5 processor, 8gb of recently upgraded ram. Im having a problem when using MainStage 3 with it crashing my laptop when the cpu load gets above 20/25 percent. I'm not certain what the issue is. I'm running high sierra 10.13.2
