I received a $25 gift card for App Store and iTunes purchases when I scroll down I see I have a $25 dollar credit to my account but when I try to purchase something it takes me to my billing info.

Just because you are sent to verify billing information does not necessarily mean your credit card will be charged.
It may simply be an identity check.
Of course, your credit card would be charged under some circumstances; e.g., you changed countries or regions, or are purchasing a gift for someone.
