Question: App Store does not show correct option for the app ("Open" or "Update")

I have experienced with my app several times the following behaviour:
1) The new version of app is released.

2) I go to the AppStore. There is "Update" button visible.

3) I update the app, so the button changes to "Open".

4) The app is not actually updated. And when I go to the iPhone settings and check the version of the app, it is still the old one.

This happened not only for me, and seems to happen only with this app.

What can be the issue? Is it an AppStore bug, or is it the problem with my app? If the latter, how can I fix it?

Hi tomkou4!

I understand that you are unable to update an app, and I'm happy to help. Try signing out of the App Store and signing back in using these instructions:

1. Go to Settings.

2. Tap on your name at the top of the screen.

3. Tap on iTunes & App Store.

4. Tap on your Apple ID, and tap Sign Out.

5. Sign back in and attempt to update again.
