Cannot login to Facetime after installing High Sierra

I recently updated my MBP to High Sierra 10.13.2 and now cannot login to Facetime or Messages. I enter my Apple ID and password, Facetime tries to login but returns the error message 'An error occured during activation. Try again.' Trying again gives the same result.

It was all working well with macOS Sierra, problem started after updating to High Sierra.

Thanks.

Hi,

When the iMessages account will not Login

The last section about phoning Apple Support is long winded as you need to works your way up the different Levels of Responders until one of them can look at the server and confirm you are blocked.

It then needs the server to be reset but this often cures the FaceTime issue as well.
