Although it says it's saving scan to desktop, I can only find them by going to Finder/All Files
I've been scanning to Desktop successfully for years - this just began. Using 10.11.6 OSX El Capitan, and HP Officejet 6700 Premium.
Any ideas as to how to get Scans to go - and appear - in Desktop again!
iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
Make sure a period(.) is not being added at the beginning of the file name. That would make the file invisible to the Finder.
To quickly and easily show invisible files visible and then invisible again try the free ShowHiddenFiles.
If you are accessing the scanner from System Preferences/Print & Scan, do you see this option?
Yes - and I always leave it on "Desktop"
That's not the problem. I don't use periods anyway. The problem is it says it's saving to Desktop but the scans are not on Desktop, and can only be accessed via Finder.
What do you mean they are only accessed by the Finder? Don't they show up on the Desktop in the Finder?
If they don't appear on the Desktop have you tried to relaunch the Finder?
