If only the screen is damaged Apple can replace it but it sounds like there is also damage to the frame and possibly logic board, etc. If that is the case you will be charged for an out-of-warranty replacement.
My screen is smashed, sent to EE for repair. They said couldn't be done as Apple don't supply individual parts. Wanted to charge me £230 for a new phone. Apple online says screens can be replaced for £25. Made an appointment at an Apple Store but will I get told it can't be replaced again?

If you still have an active AppleCare+ warranty on your iPhone, it may be eligible for their accidental damage coverage. Which, as you noted the cost for. It will be up to the Apple Genius Bar technician to examine your phone and decide if it will be covered so no one here at the ASC can tell you for sure one way or the other.
Can it be fixed??
