move still images to the timeline at the same length each but different than the default

I've imported still images to make a slide show section. I would like to drag them to the timeline all at 4 secs. When I select them all and drag in they come up at 10 secs and I have to adjust each one in the timeline

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.6)

Select all the stills in the Timeline. Press Control-D. Dial in a time. Press Return.

Where in the interface do I dial in the time?

After you select the images and press Control-D start typing numbers. They will appear in the timecode display under the viewer. Type 100 for one second for instance.
