Can't delete a large sparsebundle

I have a very large sparsebundle (not a Time Machine backup) on a remote NAS.

I can't delete it. If I try in Finder, it works away all day, but in the end nothing happens. If I try Path Finder, it locks up. Try to open the container to delete the files one at a time also doesn't work.

How can get rid of it?
