iPhone X dropping audio when connected to USB

My iPhone X drops audio all the time when connected to USB in my car using the Apple USB cable. Tried different cables but nothing. No issues with Bluetooth. This is when I try to play music stored on my phone, not streaming music. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Otakar Sroubek,

Thanks for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.

I see that you're having an audio issue with your car stereo that you've isolated to USB playback (because Bluetooth is working fine.) Trying different cables is a good step, and next I'd recommend the additional steps found in Get help connecting your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with your car stereo :

If you're using USB Playback

  1. Restart your iOS device and your car.
  2. Connect your iOS device to a different stereo USB port (if you have one).
  3. Try a different Lightning to USB cable.
  4. Update your iOS device.
  5. Install any firmware updates for your car stereo.

Try playing audio from a different app. If you can't play audio from a third-party app, contact the app developer for help. If you can't play audio from an Apple app, contact Apple Support.

All the best.
