I have attempted twice to upgrade may Mac mini (mid 2010) from 10.13.1 to 10.13.2. No errors have occurred, and no messages have shown that the upgrade fails. However, after re-boot, the system still shows as a 10.13.1 system and App Store re-shows the upgrade.
Any ideas on what the issue is and how to upgrade this machine?

worked just fine. FWIW, that is the only method I use for updating
my Macs and never had any update issues, ever.

Try the 10.13.2 Combo Update from Apple Support Downloads instead of the Mac App Store.
