How could my "NOTES" get deleted

How could my notes get deleted from my Iphone 6 other than me deleting them from the note app on my phone?

They are gone, and I did not delete them off the phone itself.

iPhone 6, iOS 11.1.2

Hi ml_coking,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Community. I understand that some notes got deleted off of your iPhone, even though you did not delete any notes on your own.

If your notes were being synced with another account, like an email account, the sync may have been turned off. If you go to Settings > Accounts & Passwords, this will show all of your accounts set up on your iPhone. You may want to check that your notes aren't synced with any of these accounts. You can test this by selecting each account, toggling Notes on and off, then check the Notes app for your notes.

If your notes were saved and syncing through iCloud, you may be able to recover them using the following steps:

Recover recently deleted notes

If you’re using upgraded notes, you can recover and edit iCloud notes you deleted in the last 30 days on iCloud.com or your devices where you’re signed in with the same Apple ID. However, you can’t recover notes you permanently removed.

  1. Select Recently Deleted on the left.

If you don’t see Recently Deleted in the folder list on the left, you don’t have any recoverable notes.

If you don’t see a folder list to the left of the notes list, you’re not using upgraded notes and can’t recover deleted notes.

  2. Select a note on the left, then click Recover in the toolbar. The note moves to the Notes folder.

To recover directly to a folder other than Notes, drag a note from the Recently Deleted folder to another folder.

Note: If you delete a shared note that you do not own, the note does not move to your Recently Deleted folder.

iCloud: Delete a note
Keep in mind that if the note was a shared note that was shared with you by someone else, they may have deleted the note. More information on that can be found in the previous link.

Let me know how those steps work out for you.

Take care.
