computer keeps freezing

My 2007 iMac freezes every few minutes, with the spinning ball impossible to delete. Is there any way to stop this from happening?

also you are running Trustter - you can't run 2 AV's on Windows without killing that - and Windows is designed to run with AV. OS X is NOT!

don't install AV products on a Mac, they cause problems and protect OS X against nothing.

you've seriously have a lot of 3rd party software running that is not helping. You cant expect your system to run smoothly with all these processes vying for CPU and RAM. Remove what you can using the directions from the developers websites or else you can expect reoccurring issues.

There are many things that can trigger the spinning ball. It will be tough to track down due to the age of your machine. It may be a deficiency with RAM (memory) issue. Older machines cannot typically handle much RAM, and the newer operating systems typically recommend a higher amount.

It may also be something going on with the hard drive, again, due to the age.

To rule out other options, I'd try a Safe Boot by holding Shift when you power on the machine. This will remove any third-party extensions and unneeded graphics. See if that helps the issue. If it does, restart the machine and see if the problem is resolved. A safe boot is known to self-correct issues sometimes.

If that does help, run an EntreCheck, so we can see what kind of hardware you are using, and we may be able to give you some better recommendations.

if you post the report here we can look into it. Etrecheck does not tell you where the problem is, it simply tells you what you have installed. From there we can hazard a guess as to what in that report points to a problem we could figure out at the best of our abilities.

just for clarity Im not saying Macs can't get virus', it's just at this time no credibility lab as found one for Mac and the AV developers can't seem to get a Mac security product out that is not a serious problem maker in the mean time.
