But having said that, if you've got a Pages document that you've created on a Mac, and you want to open this document in Pages on your iPad, then you could simply email it to yourself, or you could set up iCloud Drive so as to share all your Pages documents between your various devices — which requires a few steps but then should work transparently going forward.

The iCloud Drive option also requires that you be running up-to-date versions of Pages on both devices, as well as compatible versions of Mac OS and iOS.

Hmmm "pages"? Such a specific question on a Pages forum, especially the Pages for Mac forum.

Are you simply trying to start a new document from a template (click on the +), or are you actually talking about transferring a document from somewhere else?
