Macbook won’t open after last update

Hi; i did the last update for my macbook pro and now whenever i try to log in it will give the loading screen and then go dark. Any ideas on what i should do?

Reset NVRAM/PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18761

Reset SMC. Choose the method for “If the battery is non-removable”.
