Can a dent in a screen get worse?

My MacBook Air is amazing, but since getting it I've accidentally managed to attain a chip in the screen

from where my MagSafe hit it with one of its sharp corners.

Its definitely not cracked, but there is a minuscule scoop/crater where its been chipped at

it hasn't gone all the way through the screen, but im worried it will be more susceptible to crack, or if this small chip means it will definitely crack one day?

and should I spend my days waiting for the screen to finally crack
