My usb c not recognizing my iPhones but working properly on storage devices

I try to connect to my iPhone through my usb c to USB adapter on my 2017 Macbook pro with Touch Bar and its working well with the SD cards and hard drives but it doesn't recognize my iPhones ( X,8 plus) which all of them her on the latest softwares and also with the bluetooth adapter of my mouse and so..
