Publishing Panasonic Blu ray player on network

My son has a Windows 10 machine and in his Network he can see and access my Panasonic Blu Ray player that is on the network and uses the internet for content and updates.

He can even copy files from the player!

However within my OSX Network I can't even see the BD Player let alone use its files or anything else.

I have tried to connect to the network address using ftp, ftps and nfs and in each case it seems to find the server (my BD player) but says the server won't allow another connection.

So I guess what I am wanting to know is what protocol should I use to try to connect to my BD Player?

Windoze can do it so surely a Mac should be able to!

Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ian
