airpods motion sensor

The motion sensor feature on both of my AirPods is no longer working. It used to be if you pull one (either one) out of your ear, the music would pause, and putting it back it would restart. Now, I can take both of them out of my ear and the music keeps playing until they are placed back in the case.

Any one have an idea??
