Long Textedit files cut off after updating to High Sierra

If you have a super long Textedit file on your Imac, and you update to High Sierra, you might find that the file cuts off before the end. When this happened to me, I initially thought that the file had reverted to an earlier version. When I googled the problem, I found someone who had tried shrinking the font size and was able to see the rest of the document text. So I tried that and it works. Apparently in High Sierra, Textedit files have a new limit on their physical length. You can recover your super long Textedit content by shrinking the font or breaking up the content into multiple files by cutting and pasting.
